"Sept15/2001 Waiparous Trail Clean Up"

Once again the Alberta United Recreationists Society organized another very
successful OHV trail clean up.
Kudos to the hard working volunteers that put it together.
There were multiple projects that were completed with everyone's co-operation.
Awesome raffle prizes were donated by multiple sponsors.
Guest speakers praised the work done by the users of the area.
The AURS was recognized by dignitaries as the voice that speaks and a as
guardian for the Waiparous area.
I was very proud to be a part of that. I spent a good hour speaking with Mike
Thompson from Alberta Environment
and came to realize that they very much want to work with groups such as the
AURS.
Below are some pictures of the project I was involved in.
There many other simultaneous projects on the go but I did not have a chance to
visit them as our project was a full day affair.
We posted 13 Alberta Environment signs throughout the vast area advising users
how on the ways to keep the area maintained.
My favourite picture of the day showing how government and users can work
together.
Mike Thompsons and Jeanine from Alberta environment along with trails users.
