"September Long Weekend/03"

We had a great weekend
Ended up with a group of 12 trucks, 4 quads and one bike for the weekend which
included Fender Bender on Sunday. I think he enjoyed almost rolling his jeep
and mud and water coming up over his hood
on Sunday's 13 hour ( 14 for some) trail run that had it's share of carnage and
excitement. One blown engine, one truck with a blown 44" bogger, one
truck with a blown front and rear end , over heating issues, etc.. A few close
rolls but some great driving done to get out of them. Jenny and Mikey ( my 9
year old and Chet's son) did an impressive job taking on the steep inclines
and descents with their quad and 50cc . These kids hussled. Jenny had a roll
over with her quad on one of the steep inclines. Just a swollen ankle for her. I
guess she wanted to match Steven's and Ken's quad flop from the previous day
. Midway through, we ended up splitting into 3 groups- Group one- a few trying
to fix or get a 44" tire, Group two- trying to find way back with the
rest of the group pulling dead truck. Group three- rescuing dirt biker with
some bodily damage ( broken ribs, arm etc) that missed a turn and flew into a
tree . Scott's beam in the sky saved us from getting lost on the trail as we
were following the light to get back to camp. The Knight worked fantastic. It
is a tad on the wide side so we didn't fit in many of the places. Had to ride
up on the banks for much of the trail so if you see a certain lean towards one
side or the other on us, you know why
.
Ummm, Choda took on a bet for $100.00 to eat a large June Bug. Ummm, yah. It's
on the video below.
We had a great time with a good bunch
.
PS- I think we were the only group in Waiparous with a fire- powered by
propane, that is. It looked exactly like the real thing. Between that fire and
the beam we stayed fairly warm

Didn't get as much footage as I would have liked as most of the run was done in the dark. Got in at 1;00AM Monday, but here's what I was able to get.

Oh and here's the full $100.00 bug supper. YUCK!!!!!
Here's what we arrived to at the campsite. It took 1-1/2 hours to clean up. When are the people to leave their garbage behind going to get it??? Asshats!!!!! You bring it in, you take it out!!!!
Some pics of the weekend
The following pics were sent in by Fender Bender. Thanks :)
