Jeff based in Gippsland , is a region in Victoria Australia which is a particularly rich 4x4ing area, there is whole range of 4x4ing to be done here!    Here in Australia Tuff truck or Top trucks competitions as you call them are only a new development so it still an very expensive hobby here with our crap dollar :<.  But a very fast growing event I am in the process of building my own project so I am loving the pictures of your build up on your site,   I am building a Range Rover which I have converted to Ute tub back I have put 350hp 5.7ltr small block Chevy as the power house I am using Nissan GU running gear 5 speed gear box and transfer front and rear diffs, the rear axels are 37 spline which massive and the centers are good for 44” tires standard :> and still a reasonable pumpkin size, I have 85% reduction transfer gears unbreakable CV’s in the front diff I currently only running 42”  TSL swampers at a later date may run bigger tiers.  I going to be putting in front and rear air lockers once the body and running gear is finished.  I have attached some pics for you including one of the Australian tuff truck winner, the black rig is a Nissan GQ 48” Baja claws with think a 700hp small block with twin transfers the one on the ram was the last years winner he did not win the ramp up though as there was anther that could dive far past the that ramps limit due to his 4 wheel steer.

Hendrik Fourie- sends in some pics and comments all the way from Johannesburg ,South Africa. He writes;

I just want to say awesome, wow, great. I enjoy visiting your site, to see what's new. I am from South Africa and enjoy Offroading myself, but I can tell you now, it is nothing like what you guy's are doing, you would probably laugh at us, Anything to do with 4x4 is a very expensive hobby over here and we don't get all the aftermarket products here, If any product is available,  it is very expensive, If you need anything, you must  import it from the USA or Australia.Off coarse we don't get the vehicles as well, we have the normal pickup's with small engines, I have a V6 Nissan Sani (Pathfinder) and this is about as big as they go.We get 4X4 vehicles like the Land Cruiser's, Land Rovers and these days the Jeep Cherokee's, but they are anything from $  50 000 upwards.My vehicle is a Nissan Sani Double Cab, a Station Wagon is also available. Mine is the Pickup and the station wagon is one of my friend, Andre de Goede.
